Bikers are statistically more likely to suffer a traumatic brain injury from motorcycle accidents as compared to people in motor vehicle accidents that don’t involve a motorcycle. A head injury can be mild, moderate or severe, with symptoms ranging from a mild headache to seizures or a coma.

The symptoms of traumatic brain injury
Symptoms can be present immediately following the crash or can occur days or even weeks later. Some of the symptoms may be obvious, like loss of consciousness, nausea, vomiting and dizziness. Others are less obvious, like insomnia, anxiety, depression or weakness and numbness in the toes and fingers.

Wear a helmet
There is no question that the best way to prevent a traumatic brain injury in a motorcycle accident is to wear a helmet that provides the best head protection technology has to offer. Even if you’re in a motorcycle accident and you are thrown from your bike, you don’t have to be one of the many motorcycle victims that experience temporary or lifelong disability.
